# 36 Edward Savadjian qualified first but DNS Group 6 feature race.  Burned plug in Jim Kitzmiller’s big block.

# 69 Dave Kunicki and # 33 Mike Donohue were 2 & 3 in the 38-car field.  (down from 46 cars a year ago). # 28A Mark Hilderbrand also shown.

The beautiful Corvettes of # 84 Jim Sandberg, # 37 Clair Schwendeman, # 16 Steve Cole and # Scott Brady really stood out.

# 71 John Scott broke an axle, possibly from a bumpy track exacerbated by extremely hot weather conditions.

# 31 Mark Horner led # 26 Rick Ortman and # 11 John Miller in Group 12a.
