# 3 C8.R finishes 2nd on Long Beach Street Circuit

Gridded 4th in the # 3 C8.R, Antonio Garcia teamed with Jordan Taylor to finish 2nd in IMSA’s GTD Pro class over the streets of Long Beach on Saturday April 15.

IMSA’s one-hour forty-minute race combined with Sunday’s Indy Car race brought fans, celebrities and guests to Long Beach for Southern California’s biggest racing weekend going on sixteen years.

An early caution to clear a wreck took ten minutes off the clock.  Since the C8.R lacked the outright pace of the Lexus, Aston Martin and Porsche, the best strategy was for Garcia to pit early and play for an advantage as the race unfolded.

Fast work for fuel and 4 tires allowed Taylor to close in on the lesser-experienced Klaus Bachler in the # 9 Pfaff Racing Porsche 911 R GT3.

Taylor muscled him aside (technique picked up subbing for Chase Elliott in NASCAR at CoTA?) and held on to the finish under another caution brought out by brother Ricky’s banzai move for the overall win in his Acura GTP.

Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat led GTD Pro flag to flag in the Vasser-Sullivan “1,000 thieves” # 14 Lexus RCF GT3.

Next up is May 12-14 at WeatherTech Raceway at Laguna Seca.
