# 70 Mirco Schultis Callaway C7 GT3.R finishes third in SRO GT America Series at the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix in Nashville
Mirco Schultis (#70 Mishumotors Callaway Corvette C7 GT3.R) also won the Masters award by battling through the field.
In just its second year, the Music City Grand Prix is a packed affair, starting off with a downtown street festival followed big time by INDY cars, a big field of TA2 (Trans Am) cars and each day capped off by the SRO GT America Series.
Mirco had a close call on Saturday that might have tested his courage. And he said was plagued by motor troubles when interviewed on CBS Sports TV.
Sunday was another story. Starting 8th Mirco cut through Audi, Porsche and Lambo traffic and out-dueling the AMG Mercedes # 04 of George Kurtz to finish 3rd third behind the Ferrari 488’s # 23 of Onofrio Triarsi & the winning # 37 of Justin Wetherill.
Credit for this burgeoning event goes to Scott Borchetta, a dynamic Nashville entrepreneur who also races a vintage 1970 Corvette and a TA2 Mustang (see below).
The 2.17-mile course starts on the Veterans Blvd Bridge crossing the Cumberland River, swings by the NFL Titans stadium, crosses back again after looping at the other side. We experience a unique blend of grit with a twist of southern charm.
A promising future awaits Fourteen-year-old Brent Crews who won the Trans Am race in his # 70 TA2 Mustang. His backer is Justin Marks’ new Trackhouse Racing Team which is making a splash on the NASCAR circuit.
Scott Borchetta finished 3rd in his TA2 mustang sponsored by his Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers company.
