Corvettes in the Spotlight at Sebring Vintage Races
Corvette racing just like back in the day
You had to be there to see it. Ken Mennella and Walo Bertschinger swapped positions in both Group 5 sprint races. Each came out ahead. Bertschinger drives a big block Grand Sport continuation chassis 006 built by Duntov Motor Co. Mennella drives a well developed Mid-America replica built by A&R Corvette in 1998. Then the clouds erupted with a monsoon reminiscent of 1965.

More Corvette Highlights
Jeff Bernatovich swept both Group 10 sprint races in his C4 tube frame built by Irv Hoerr and powered by a potent SB2 engine. It was rewarding after replacing an axle broken a day earlier in practice with a new one fetched overnight from Jacksonville by Jeff & crew.
Clair Schwendeman just gets better and better. He was competitive in group 6 all weekend and was the top Corvette finisher in Sunday's 90 min enduro, co-driving with Alan Sevadjian of Duntov Motor Co.
Robert Blain's Pratt & Miller C5.R/C6.R is always a favorite. In the driver seat is big time Corvette enthusiast Stephan Bisang of Swiss Corvette Club International who was great fun and contributed to the weekend. We have a limited supply of shirts with stunning C7.R artwork. Order here.
Another Historic Corvette Race Car Appears
Gregg Lodde from FL with a 1968 Corvette from the Mid-West that was raced by Jim Moyer in Trans Am and IMSA. This car reportedly sat for 25 years and is now racing again. It doesn't get any better than that. Below photo from back in the day at Brainerd by Jerry Winker.
