RACE CAR REUNION DAY AT SUMMIT POINT RACEWAY

Tuesday August 25, 2009 in conjunction with Corvettes at Carlisle.
Open to all Corvettes. Featuring “Race Car Reunion” Corvettes.

REQUIREMENTS: Some track experience (this is NOT a school). Helmet must be Snell 2000 or newer. On board fire extinguisher 5 BC or better with metal holder and clamp. Long sleeved shirt and long pants of cotton material or driving suit. Shoes must be closed construction (NO sandals). Any convertibles must have roll over protection.

FORMAT: First there will be a drivers meeting and introduction to the track in the classroom. Next there will be familiarization laps of the track under controlled conditions. Drivers will then be run in groups of like skill level. NO following too close for an extended period of time, passing without a signal, any wheel to wheel contact or mock racing. Such conduct will not be tolerated.

SKILL LEVELS:

Level 1– Limited Passing, on straight only.

Level 2- Liberal Passing, in designated areas.

Level 3 – Unlimited passing, using common sense.

Level 1is intended for drivers limited track time or just feel more at ease with the limited passing. Level 2 is for drivers with extensive track time and the ability to pass and be passed in designated areas. Level 3 is for drivers with a competition license or experience willing to pass or be passed with care and common sense.

COST: Early Bird till June 20-$160. Before July 20-$180. After July 20-$200

TRACK TIME: There will be four groups with two 20 minute sessions in the morning and two 30 minute sessions in the afternoon. Also there will be 4 or 5 consecutive familiarization laps run under controlled conditions.
