Trans Am at Road Atlanta

  • Road Atlanta 5300 Winder Hwy, Braselton, GA 30517 (map)

Amy Ruman inherits 4th place finish in Trans Am at Road Atlanta

Starting 8th, Amy Ruman in her # 23 TA Corvette GT1 gained several spots as four of the faster cars were felled by attrition in the second round of the Trans Am series at Road Atlanta.

Consistency is part of her game as was also evident in finishing 3rd in the opening round at Sebring.

Matt Brabham # 16 Mustang and Adam Andretti # 17 Camaro, progeny of two of the biggest names in racing, finished first and second.  Brabham was sitting in for series regular Chris Dyson.

David Pintaric # 57, a veteran who formerly drove a Corvette inherited third place.

Kaylee Bryson in her # 02 XGT Corvette C6 Z06 was off the pace all weekend and finished 4th in the XGT class.

Paul Tracy, former Indy star won the XGT class in his # 10 Camaro and admitted would have run out of gas were it not for yellow flags that slowed the pace from lap 29 to 35 and at race-end under caution.

Amy Ruman and Kaylee Bryson are Corvette stalwarts who serve as ambassadors and an inspiration to all.

The Trans Am travels west to Sonoma Raceway Sears Point on April 24.
