TF Sport Corvettes battle in Brazil to no avail

When all was said and done, the # 81 TF Sport Z06 GT3.R of Tom Van Rompuy, Rui Andrade and Charlie Eastwood started and ended 8th in the WEC 6-hour race on the 2.677-mile Interlagos circuit on the outskirts of Sao Paulo.

Had Van Rompuy not been spun out by a Porsche at the outset; nor had Eastwood been penalized for passing under a full-course yellow near the final hour, Andrade had the pace to battle for fifth in the 17-car LMGT3 field.

The # 82 TF Sport Z06 GT3.R of Hiroshi Koizumi, Sebastien Baud and Daniel Juncadella started 13th but dropped out on lap 133, well short of 214 laps completed by the # 92 Manthey Porsche 911 GTLMGT3 that is dominating the series so far.

Koizumi was also penalized before Baud took over, leaving Juncadella sitting on the sidelines.

TF Sport’s Corvettes travel to Austin TX for the 6th round of the FIA WEC, the Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of The Americas on August 30-September 1.
