# 23 Amy Ruman Makes the podium in 2024 Trans Am opener at Sebring
Amy Ruman (# 23 Corvette) from Stow OH passed her nemesis Tomy Drissi (# 8 Camaro) from Los Angeles CA in the closing laps to secure third spot on the podium in the opening round at Sebring International Raceway.
It marked her first podium since scoring second place at Laguna Seca in April, 2022.
Winner Paul Menard (# 3 Mustang) from Eau Claire WI and Ruman benefited from a crash on the opening lap by last year’s champion Chris Dyson (# 16 Mustang) from Poughkeepsie NY with four-time champion Ernie Francis Jr (# 2 Dodge Challenger) from Southwest Ranches FL.
The old saying goes “take ‘em any way you can get ‘em” as Ruman heads for Road Atlanta on March 21, the first day of Spring.
Richard Forsythe (# 58 Corvette) from Cresson TX finished second in the GTS class.
Forsythe in his GSpeed Corvette and Lee Saunders (# 84 Viper) ran nose to tail for the entire 27 lap 100-mile race despite Forsythe’s transmission problems.
Kaylee Bryson (# 02 Corvette) from Broken Arrow OK finished fourth in the GTS class.
Bryson is an up-and-coming short-track racer driving an 800 hp USAC Silver Crown Series car which is similar to a Sprint car.
LSI, a logistics company, and Aaron Pierce of Sam Pierce Chevrolet from Fishers IN northeast of Indianapolis have taken her under their wing.
