Bad day for the sole Corvette at Sonoma Trans Am

# 23 Amy Ruman completed just 15 laps and was scored 6th (last in TA class) at Sears Point Sonoma Raceway.  A hard-to-find part failed during a practice session and prevented her from qualifying. The part was overnighted to her and arrived just moments before the green flag.

The crew could not fix problems encountered in practice when the time came to qualify.  That was a big letdown after finishing 2nd at Laguna Seca. Despite her team’s fastest work, she was unable to start with the rest of the field but didn’t give up and made it onto the track. 

We will try to find out more when we visit Lime Rock in a few weeks.

# 20 Chris Dyson again beat # 8 Tomi Drissi, this time by 8 seconds, to sweep the west coast swing.  There was just one caution in the 40-lap race.

Only 6 of the more powerful TA cars (vs 44 of the higher-tech TA2 cars) signifies a decline that could spell their end.
