Luck pays off for Amy Ruman at Trans Am Laguna Seca

Legendary coach Vince Lombardi preached to his Green Bay Packers, “Luck is what happens when preparation meets Opportunity”.

# 23 Amy Ruman was destined to finish 4th with 5 laps to go when Tomy Drissi running 2nd went off course in the vaunted corkscrew turn, allowing Ruman and a handful of competitors to get past.  Officials later penalized another TA contender for avoidable contact.

Ruman, who fought back from an early spin, inherited a well-earned second place.

# 20 Chris Dyson tailed Drissi before an encounter with lapped traffic.  That was all he needed to pass and win the 45-lap race by a healthy margin.

# 48 Mike Weathers from Conroe TX and # 51 Don McMillon from Texarkana TX in well-prepped C6 Corvettes were off pace and finished 4th in SGT & XGT classes respectively.

Amy Ruman is the sole Corvette when the Trans Am completes its West Coast swing the following week at Sonoma.
