It was a nice day at the beach!
Nick Tandy and Tommy Milner in the # 4 Corvette C8.R won the GTLM class at Long Beach ahead of Jordan Taylor and Antonio Garcia in the # 3 Corvette C8.R.
Taylor started from pole but lost momentum to a slower GTD car near the halfway mark allowing Milner to get by.
Taylor pitted with 41 minutes to go in the 100-minute race. Milner stopped a lap later with Tandy taking over and clearing Garcia by about two seconds to hold the lead.
Cooper MacNeil and Mathieu Jaminet in the # 79 Porsche 911 RSR were never a factor.
Having dominated this season and with of the manufacturers gone, Taylor and Garcia will claim the championship for the GTLM class in its final year, merely by starting at VIR on Oct 8-9 and at Road Atlanta Petit Le Mans Nov 12-13.
Two happy Brazilians, Philpe Nasr & Pippo Derani were the overall winners in the # 31 Action Express/Whelen Cadillac DPi, closing in on the # 10 Wayne Taylor Acura DPi for a decent shot at the tile.
