# 23 Amy Ruman and # 41 Vinnie Allegretta crack the top 5 at Road America
Looking down on Road America from back in the day.
Despite a string of top 5 finishes, the championship looks out of reach for two-time champ Amy Ruman. Second or third is within her grasp with 4 races left.
2017 title runner-up Vinnie Allegratta is doing a limited schedule this season.
Dave Reuhlow scored a credible 7th in his annual appearance at Road America, his home track.
Richard Grant finished 9th.
A broken hub ended an incredible run by # 17 Adam Andretti C6 (ECC) Engineered Components Co/Anchor Bolt only 5 laps into the race. Look for him to bounce back at Watkins Glen.
The outcome was worse for # 04 Natalie Decker (age 18) from Hurley WI, same hometown as Tony Ave, her mentor. She completed just 1 lap of the 25-lap race, victim of a broken clutch.
# 98 Ernie Francis Jr won the race and is a leg up on rival Chris Dyson who retired on lap 17, both driving Mustangs.
# 26 Aaron Pierce, Pierce Chevrolet finished 14th overall, (top Corvette 5th in SGT class) dominated by Porsches and a Viper.
