Jody O’Donnell overcomes weather at the WeatherTech to win Group 6 at Road America
Rain that fell on Saturday through Sunday morning slowed the field while # 46 Jody O’Donnell (big block) again proved the man to beat when the skies cleared.
Team-mate # 38 Mike Donohue (small block) led the rest of the Corvettes finishing 3rd. Curt Geatches, former Nissan IMSA GTP wiz preps them both.
# 88 Rick Mooney in the ex-Don Soenen big block was 8th. Stewart Black also preps Rick’s # 42 ex-Mike Manner small block they brought along for the show.
# 173 an old favorite was back after a long spell piloted by Harry Dinwiddie. Harry felt the organizers impeded the race by allowing Group 10B cars in the field, even though not part of podium awards.
# 3 Kirk Blaha, ex Bobby-Spirgel and # 5 Travis Pfrang, ex-Jim Herlinger were affected in particular.
# 81 John Rische, ex-Sheldon Stafford and # 15 Matt Jensen, ex-Darwin Bossell from nearby Sheboygan took it like good sports.
# 24 Bill Treffert’s souped-up straight axle was 7th in the 28 car Group 3 field.
# 77 Gunnar Pfrang notched a strong 3 rd in a 33 car Group 10 field.
