Ruman rebounds to 3rd in TA at Homestead-Miami Speedway
# 23 Amy Ruman reached the podium after two disappointing results earlier this season.
In 2015 Ruman triumphed on the 2.27 mile Homestead-Miami road course/NASCAR oval “roval” circuit on the way to her first championship.
It appears that stalwarts Ruman and # 59 Simon Gregg are the only two Corvette racers contending the entire schedule (exit Paul Fix, Tomy Drissi, Vinnie Allegretta and others that switched to Caddy and Camaro-bodied cars).
Gregg dropped out on lap 17 of the 45 lap (102 mile) race.
Local veteran # 06 J.R. Lopez finished 6th.
Newcomer # 38 Juan Vento from San Juan Puerto Rico finished 11th in a re-conditioned C5 sponsored by Interstate Batteries.
# 11 Randy Kinsland slipped to 5th following his TA3 class win at Road Atlanta.
After three races points leader # 98 Ernie Francis Jr is again the man to beat; blitzing the field in 2017 and winning this year at his home track.
