# 41 Vinnie Allegretta leads Corvette driver standings while # 98 Ernie Francis Jr Mustang wins again on his way to the championship
Vinnie Allegretta would have a shot if Ernie Francis Jr was not winning race after race.
Nothing seems to stop the 19 year-old phenom who took 5th place in the NASCAR Xfinity race the preceding day.
Allegretta finished 3rd behind winner Francis Jr and another phenom, Martin Ragginger from Salzburg Austria making his Trans Am debut. The 29 yr old Porsche Cup and ADAC-GT driver piloted a TA spec Corvette re-bodied as the # 50 Camaro by ACP. (Not to be confused w/TA2).
Simon Gregg was 4th in his Derhaag Corvette
A contrite 5th place finisher Tomy Drissi was back having been re-instated after banned at Brainerd. TA stewards looked closer and reconsidered. Drissi’s # 8 Corvette is wrapped with graphics promoting the movie Kingsman the Golden Circle coming out Sept 22.
# 23 Amy Ruman caught another bad break and was scored 11 th. Running nose to tail with Drissi, she got tangled with lapped traffic that sent her flying off the track. The damage was beyond repair with less than ten laps to go.
Starting order was based on points standings coming into the race because lightning made conditions unsafe for qualifying.
