Corvettes are top finishers at the 2016 RMMR celebrating BMW
# 75 Tommy Steuer from Bogota Columbia won the Group 6B race. Car bought in 2012 from Terry Gough after many wins including 2002 Monterey Historics under Steve Earle celebrating the Corvette marque.
# 5 Jeff Abramson (2nd) and # 71 Jerry Gollnick 327 fuelie (5th) finished in the top five against a 40 + car field including Cobra 289 and Mustang GT 350.
Jeni Yeakel Swanson in the 1965 ex -Dave Rex # 67 Tero Corvette received the John Fitch trophy presented by Chevrolet.
# 88, Jean Bernard Bouvet, St Pavace Sarthe FR in this 1979 IMSA Corvette was third against a potent field for 1973-81 FIA IMSA GT, GTX, AAGT, GTU cars including Porsche 935 Turbos, BMW 320 Tu, M1 & CSL and DeKon Monzas. The owner Eric Roturier campaigned this ex-Doug Rowe 1980 Le Mans entry at the HSR Classic 24 at Daytona where Jules Gounon, 20 won its class. The car received the Chevrolet Corvette Rolex Award for Excellence.
# 53 Mike Thurlow in this 1976 ex Steve Beard TA was 6th.
# 25 Chris Springer in the ex-Larry Park Corvette. Larry’s car sported a BWM paint scheme that fit in perfectly.
Ron Erickson in the 1957 ex-Fred Yeakel.
Richard Matkovitch drove the same SCCA BP Corvette his dad raced in the mid-70s.
Scott Brady in the 1969 ex-Steve Kline restored in TX by Jim & Bob Caudle.
Dave Roberts in the 1956/57 bought from Bill Morrison and restored to as raced by GM engineer Jim Swan. Car damaged in action, finished 30th.
Mike Haemmig in 1988 ex Darin Brassfield TA built by Prorofab, one of the best preserved examples of C4 tube frame Trans-Am/GT-1 Corvettes.
