Corvettes take 2nd and 4th in Group 6 field of 27 cars at SVRA Sonoma Historic Races
# 5 Jeff Abramson in his ex Bob Danuser 1964 SCCA BP Corvette and # 17 Randy Peterson in his ex Gary Carlin 1969 SCCA AP Corvette finished 2nd & 4th in a Group 6 field of in a 27 cars at Sonoma. Peterson is a well-regarded Corvette restorer who looks after Abramson’s car from his shop located near the Sears Point track.
The # 0 of Colby Hillman ex Fred Semon 1968 SCCA BP Corvette is a good example of a car prepared to original spec (so called medallion car). Upholding the legacy of Steve Earle, it caught a lot of eyeballs even though it missed the race because of a broken tranny in practice.
The # 43 ex Bob Dye and the # 8 ex Steve Elfinbein 1957 & 1960 SCCA BP straight axle Corvettes are also great examples as raced by Russ Uzes and Greg Johnson respectively.
# 53 Mike Thurlow in his ex Steve Beard 1975 SCCA Trans Am Corvette finished 3rd in the Group 12 field of 18 cars.
# 12 Bob Matkovich is still racing his 1969 SCCA BP Corvette
