# 50 C7.R Larbre Corvette finishes 3rd at Silverstone in FIA WEC season opener on April 15-17
Jack Lecont’s French-based team celebrated a third place finish in the 6 hour race on the Silverstone Formula 1 circuit in the UK.
A higher finish was in reach had they chosen softer tyres at the start and not made a pit stop that cost them a lap just before the caution flag (safety car) came out but as fans know, that’s racing.
The # 50 Corvette C7.R, chassis 002 built by Pratt & Miller to race in 2014 and raced by Larbre last year ran strongly for the entire race.
The FIA WEC is a demanding series that starts in April and ends in November. It consists of 9 endurance races spanning the northern hemisphere at circuits that include the Le Mans 24 hours.
The # 50 Larbre Corvette is pitted against supercars like the # 83 Ferrari F458, the # 98 Aston Martin Vantage V8 and three (3) Porsche 911 RSR in the LMGTE Am class for gentlemen drivers.
The 2016 drivers are Paolo Ruberti (I), Pierre Ragues (F) and Yutaka Yamagishi (J)

The next race is at the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium on May 5-7.
