Larbre Corvette starts 3rd, finishes 5th in class at Shanghai
Larbre’s # 50 C7.R Corvette qualified 3rd in the GTLME Am class at Shanghai’s 3.4 mile Formula 1 circuit. As at Mt Fuji, the teams braced for heavy rain that brought out the safety car to start the race. The cars were tightly bunched. Caution flags and switching to intermediate tires made it difficult to manage tire temperatures that set the car back during several hours of racing.
4 hours into the race the rains finally ended and all cars switched to slicks.
Nicolai Sylvest passed the # 88 Porsche 911 RSR moving up to 6th. In the final hour Ruberti got by the # 96 Aston Martin Vantage V8 and finished 5th in class.
Jack LeConte and his team are improving. They move on to Bahrain where the 2015 WEC season concludes on Nov 21 at the Formula 1 circuit.
