He special ordered the car so he could continue his SCCA Racing career that he started with his 1959 Corvette. The car raced the JIM BOWIE SCCA REGIONAL races at Opelousas, LA on August 4 and 5, 1962 and came in second to Delmo Johnson. Between 1962 and 65, Dudley raced from Indiana to Florida, but never won a race. The car also served as Dudley's every day driver and he took perfect care of it. He saved every document that was ever issued to the car, and the original window sticker, owners guide, owner protection booklet, financing agreement, owner card and letter from Ed Cole, jacket, pin and patch are all still with the car as well as as all race entries and finishing place records. Car was sold to George Lyons of Erie, PA in 1987 at Corvettes of Carlisle. He sold it to Vinnie Giaqunito who showed the car at BLOOMINGTON GOLD SURVIVOR in 1993. John Goodman from Seattle has been vintage racing the car since 2003 at West Coast events including Monterey Historic. The car still has original paint and interior.
