It was purchased by Rodney Harris (new/used ???) and converted for racing. The 427 engine was not destined to stay in the car very long. When it was destroyed, Rod replaced it with an L88. Rod Harris sold the car to John Paul (Sr) for a co-driver position in the # 18 car that John Paul had purchased from Bob Esseks. John Paul (Sr) sold the yellow 1968 in 1971 to the Stafford family, while he and Rod were at Bridgehampton track. The Staffords ran a trucking line which was contracted to the Kansas City Star newspaper in Missouri (MO). There were four Staffords who drove the car over the next few years. The eldest son (Ron) and the younger son (Randy) seem to have mostly driven the car. They raced SCCA/FIA/IMSA thru 1972. They also ran the Mexico 1000 in 71,Summit Point IMSA, Daytona FIA, and IMSA. The father (Sheldon) also ran the car and placed 6th in nation in 72 in AP @ Road Atlanta. The car then went to Sam Fillingham who lived in Florida and ran the SCCA Regional/nationals in 1975. Sam took the Central Florida regional championship in AP. Then in 76 and 77, Sam ran the car in the Daytona 24 hrs. In 77 and 79, he ran the Sebring 12 hrs. Raced by Tom Bunn in club events and SCCA from around 83-93. Now owned and vintage raced by John Rische, Sheboygan (WI).
