Unique Characteristics: The restoration was started by James Cowan of St. Petersburg (FL) to the LeMans standard. The engine was (and is) a standard steel block 427 L-88, prepared by BoLaws in Orlando. KLJ in Baltimore did the "LeMans" paint and detailing. Corvette Connection of Fort Myers (FL) and Peformance Tuning & Restoration (PTR) Inc. of Pompano Beach (FL), did the final race preparation.
Modifications: Greenwood rear body panels (not quite correct but accessible) were used. One advantage of this, of course, was that the L-88 rear flares were already molded onto the rear clip. Also, the use of the Greenwood parts wasn't seen as a major problem with this car because it was more of a standard car anyway. It was built to satisfy the FIA LeMans specifications which required a lot of the stock structure and equipment to be left on the car. FIA standards required an almost stock, street legal specification, including such unlikely race car items as a passenger seat, roll-up glass windows and a stock interior.
